Don’t let damage or decay stop you from having the beautiful, functional smile you deserve. A natural-looking, durable dental crown can restore both the health and appearance of your tooth.

Why should I choose dental crowns?

Dental crowns are a versatile solution for both restorative and cosmetic needs. They’re the go-to treatment for those with damaged, broken, or severely decayed teeth. After clearing away the damage and shaping the tooth into a strong base, a crown is placed over it. These custom-made, tooth-shaped caps protect your natural tooth down to the gum line, preserving your smile’s look, feel, and functionality. Crowns are also frequently used after root canal therapy or to complete a dental implant procedure.

The Dental Crown Treatment Process

Preparing The Tooth

Having a crown made for a tooth requires two visits. In the first visit, the tooth is shaped to allow ideal fitting for the crown, and any decay or older filling material is removed. A synthetic tooth material is often placed to ensure there is enough structure for the crown to be stable.

Imaging & Temporary Crown Placement

After being prepared, the tooth is scanned using our 3-D imaging device.  This scan captures and records the shape of your tooth in high detail.  The scan is sent right away to the dental laboratory, where technicians begin crafting a crown that will have a great fit, appearance, and chewing function.

Final Fit & Finish

At the second visit, the temporary crown is removed, and the permanent crown is seated on the tooth using a specialized adhesive which ensures maximum retention.  This appointment is generally very quick and straightforward.  From there, you will be able to eat with your new crown almost right away!
